How can the class be so short?
We’re a “hands-on learning program”. We take a different approach from traditional education. Our classes take place in a medical office rather than in a classroom. A majority of the learning is hands-on. Our classes begin with lecture/class discussion, but a majority of the time is spent in lab where students are in the operatories learning one on one with instructors. When our students finish the program and begin working, they feel comfortable in the medical office because that’s the environment they were trained in.
How can a short course be as effective as a longer program?
As a newly hired Medical Assistant, your employer will have an expectation that you will know the basic skills of assisting. It’s those fundamental skills that we focus on teaching our students. Our custom designed curriculum sets students up for success in knowing what doctors will expect them to know.
Will I be more qualified if I go to school for longer?
When you graduate from any medical assisting school you receive a certificate of completion. Many students ask if they can expect to make a higher starting salary if they attend a longer school. The answer to that is no. The starting salary for a Medical Assistant does not have anything to do with how long you spent in school, or how much you paid for your schooling. We set up to become a Certified Medical Assistant with the title of CCMA. Employers will want to see this certification and we will help you get it.

What are the job prospects after completion of this course?
As long as there are doctors, there will continue to be a need for qualified medical assistants. There are many opportunities for entry-level positions, but some doctors prefer to hire experienced assistants. Our program includes a 40-hour externship where students will get a their first experience as a Medical Assistant.

What is the Job Description of a Medical Assistant?
Medical assistants perform a variety of duties, including but not limited to assisting the doctor, carrying out clinical tasks, and completing administrative work.
Medical assistants may perform clinical duties, including, taking and recording vital signs, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, etc. Administrative tasks are equally important and medical assistants are in charge of scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, working with insurance, and billing.
Assistants are responsible for making patients feel comfortable and preparing them for treatment.
During medical visits, assistants work alongside the doctor to provide assistance. They assist doctors with clerical duties as well as clinical, and are also there to assist with the everyday operations of the practice.
In some larger practices, the tasks of administrative and clinical will be divided between the assistants. In most practices however, medical assistants should be savvy with all aspects of the medical practice. Administrative will be devoted to the organization of the office, insurance billing, and patient relations. Clinical tasks can vary from office to office and can include laboratory testing, drawing blood, sterilization of medical instruments, and doctor to patient instructions.
Medical assistants work closely with and under the supervision of doctors. Additionally, medical assistants should not be confused with physicians assistants, who are licensed to perform a different set of clinical tasks.
What will I need to take your course?
You’ll need to have proof of secondary education (high school diploma, college transcripts, or GED certificate, etc). In the event you don’t have any proof of a secondary education, you can achieve a passing score on the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (Verbal 200 and Quantitative 210)
Also, you’ll need to be at least 18 years of age (if under 18 we require written permission from a parent or legal guardian).
